Saviez-vous que chaque deuxième semaine du mois de mai est dédiée à la Semaine Christian Aid, une semaine de mobilisation des ressources et célébration de ses interventions dans le monde? 🔹Fondée après la seconde guerre mondiale, Christian Aid est une organisation britannique, constituée par des églises britanniques et irlandaises, et agissant en tant que mouvement mondial. Initialement focalisée sur l’aide humanitaire dans les crises et les situations d'urgence pour alléger les souffrances, elle travaille pour restaurer la dignité des personnes affectées. 🔹Toujours à l’écoute des communautés dont elle s’est engagée à demeurer redevable, elle s’adapte en permanence pour combattre la pauvreté, dénoncer et éradiquer les abus de pouvoir pour un monde paisible vers un développement durable et équitable. 🔹Au Burundi, @CaidBurundi intervient depuis 1994 à travers trois priorités stratégiques dont l’adaptation et résilience climatiques, la justice genre et la cohésion sociale. Longtemps célébré à l’interne, le programme pays a décidé cette année de se joindre aux autres programmes pour une célébration publique de la Semaine Christian aid sous le thème « 7 days, so many ways (7 jours, plusieurs façons de faire) ». 🔹Plusieurs activités sont organisées pendant la semaine et ce jeudi 16 mai 2024, une conférence a eu lieu dans les enceintes du Service Anglican pour le Développement Communautaire - SADC, un de ses partenaires de mise en œuvre, pour célébrer ses résultats. 🔹On comptait entre autres parmi ses hôtes, plusieurs autorités dont un représentant du ministère de l’Environnement, l’Agriculture et l’Elevage, un Représentant de l’Ambassade du Royaume Uni au Burundi, des représentants des agences des Nations unies, des Organisations non Gouvernementales, Internationales et Nationales. 📍💬 Dans son allocution, le Directeur Pays, Philip Mato GALGALLO, a indiqué que l’esprit de cette semaine est d’aligner différents acteurs à la cause de Christian Aid à travers divers moyens, y compris la collecte des fonds, qui se fait généralement au niveau global. « A travers des efforts conjoints, nous pouvons éradiquer la pauvreté au Burundi », a-t-il indiqué. #lesbeautesdecheznous #akezanet #ChristianAidWeek #Burundi
