One of the key highlights of my participation in the International Clean Energy Day event hosted by
@SEforALLorg was the Clean Cooking Experience, an eye‑opening reminder of how deeply our everyday cooking practices are tied to health (SDG 3) and climate action (SDG 13). For many years, we have been made to believe that good food must come from firewood or charcoal to have a certain taste or authenticity. But this experience challenged that long‑standing misconception, showing clearly that available and emerging cleaner cooking alternatives can be just as effective, while being far healthier for our bodies, our homes, and our environment.
The session was an interactive, practical, and deeply enriching one, with meaningful exchanges alongside the CEO and Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (UN SRSG) for Sustainable Energy for All, and Co-Chair of UN-Energy,
@DamilolaSDG7, the Italian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Roberto Mengoni and other dignitaries. Beyond the technology, it was about shifting mindsets: understanding that clean cooking is not a compromise, but a smarter path forward for people and planet alike.
I left this experience encouraged and inspired, and looking forward to deeper conversations, stronger partnerships, and collective action that will help drive clean, inclusive energy solutions where they matter most.
