📢 The last and final day of the Sustainability and Leadership Camp started with the motivating Panel discussion, Communicating for Tangible Results: Strategies for successful Social Action Projects. This was followed by a session on Monitoring and Evaluation for Youth-led Social Action Projects by Dr Sudhanshu Sinha, Cultural Engagement Data Business Partner, Data Evidence and Performance, @BritishCouncil. In his valedictory address, Dr @sahariadipankar, Senior Director, TERI, emphasised the vital importance of partnerships and collaboration as essential drivers of meaningful change. He highlighted the enthusiastic participation of attendees and praised the India–UK collaboration as an exemplary model of international cooperation for climate action. He expressed confidence that youth are the future leaders, capable of shaping policies and communities through innovative ideas, which serve as catalysts for positive change in climate resilience efforts. Ms @RittikaParruck, Director of Education India, British Council, highlighted the SCOUT programme's mission to expand global learning for talented Indian undergraduates, emphasising education as empowerment. She also shared plans for nine UK universities to establish research campuses in India by 2027-28, focusing on innovation and collaboration. Dr Livleen Kaur Kahlon, Director, TERI, stressed how the Social Action Projects will help the youth and community during her vote of thanks. This camp exemplifies the power of youth, collaboration, and knowledge to advance a fair, inclusive, and sustainable transition. As the participants prepare to implement their projects and carry forward the lessons learned, we are reminded that every action counts in combating climate change. 📢 Day 1: Sustainability and Leadership Camp—As part of Climate Skills: Seeds for Transition India TERI, in partnership with @BritishCouncil and HSBC, inaugurated the Sustainability & Leadership Camp at the TERI New Delhi office on December 08, 2025. Organized under the Climate Skills: Seeds for Transition India project, the five-day camp brings together youth from across India for hands-on learning, leadership development, and capacity-building on climate action and sustainability. Delivering the welcome address, @DrVibhaDhawan, Director General, TERI, said, “This programme is essential because climate action begins with each one of us. Your generation is the first to be fully impacted by climate change, and your ideas will shape how India navigates this transition. Every small action matters.” Following the welcome address, Dr @sahariadipankar, Senior Director, TERI, emphasized on upskilling the youth, noting, “India’s climate goals for 2030 and even 2070 will only be met if today’s youth take action. The skills you acquire here—and how you share them with your communities—will shape the future of our country. No single institution can solve the climate challenge alone.” Representing the British Council, Mr Shannon West, Deputy Director India, delivered the special address, highlighting the global significance of climate literacy and youth engagement. “Climate literacy is essential for the next generation, shaping how communities, economies, and societies respond to environmental challenges. These are fundamental skills that young people need to be part of the transition to a greener future, especially those disproportionately affected by environmental changes." The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms @Tarumkt, Associate Director, TERI, who reflected on TERI's long-standing commitment to environmental education and experiential learning.
