La lucha contra la corrupción también se fortalece desde la Amazonía. Proética, a través del Programa de Gobernanza Ambiental, impulsó la capacitación a comunidades indígenas de Ucayali con el nuevo módulo de la Mochila Forestal: Institucionalidad y lucha contra la corrupción, cocreado junto a @OsinforPeru y @SerforPeru. Estas capacitaciones llegaron a comunidades que protegen más de 48 mil hectáreas de territorio ancestral y representan a más de 3,400 personas. Además, fueron desarrolladas en su propio idioma, el shipibo-konibo, fortaleciendo la comprensión, la participación y la apropiación de los contenidos. The third phase of the Law Enforcement Assistance Programme to Reduce Tropical Deforestation (LEAP) was announced in the margins of the @united4wildlife Global Summit in Rio de Janeiro. LEAP helps countries work together to stop the criminal networks that profit from illegal logging and timber trafficking. From Asia-Pacific to Latin America, the programme brings together police, customs, environmental authorities, prosecutors, and financial investigators to share information, carry out joint operations and strengthen laws. Funded by NICFI @climateforest, this new phase will mainly focus on tropical forests in Brazil, Ecuador, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Peru, and will also address illegal mining - especially in the Amazon Basin - as a major cause of deforestation. At the @CGIARgender Conference, CIFOR-ICRAF scientists shared approaches for engaging women, men & diverse groups in tree & agroforestry projects for landscape restoration.
