Sharing Uganda’s Climate Transparency Journey at the
#UWEWK2026
On 25th March 2026, at the Uganda Water and Environment Week 2026, CBIT II Uganda Project presented its story, highlighting progress in strengthening national capacity for climate transparency under the Paris Agreement.
The journey was presented by
@chekwoti, the CBIT-GSP Uganda Focal point and Principal Climate Change Officer (Mitigation),
@CCD_UG –
@min_waterUg, who shared key milestones and progress under the project.
Key highlights included:
• Establishment of 6 GHG sector hubs and technical working groups
• Finalisation of a comprehensive capacity needs assessment report
• Strengthening data sharing, monitoring and reporting systems
• Progress towards building a national GHG professional network
