Weekend AI News: @NVIDIA and @SKhynix announce multiyear technology partnership for next-generation memory aligned to NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure roadmap. BTW both Nvidia and SKHynix Silicon Valley campuses are less than two miles apart from each other and I cross both of em everyday, on my way to my office/studio 😊 Key highlights of the joint announcement: 1. SK hynix will diversify into new markets NVIDIA is creating — across AI infrastructure, personal AI and physical AI — codeveloping memory for NVIDIA Vera Rubin AI supercomputers, Vera CPUs, RTX Spark-powered PCs and Jetson Thor robotic computing platforms. My POV, it was imminent, HK hynix being the major supplier to previous generations of Nvidia systems. 2. Both companies will apply AI to semiconductor chip design and manufacturing, using NVIDIA CUDA-X libraries and NVIDIA PhysicsNeMo to accelerate semiconductor simulations, TCAD workflows and in-house engineering codes. My POV: obviously Nvidia can convince one of their key suppliers to use Nvidia technology to speed up the design and manufacturing of one of the most constrained resources — and use it as a case study to advance their vertical agenda in manufacturing industry (and horizontal agenda of physical AI) 3. SK hynix will advance factory digital twins by combining NVIDIA Omniverse, OpenUSD scene optimization and NVIDIA cuOpt to drive fully autonomous fab operations. My POV: Nvidia gets some business in the process 😊 4. The agreement supports supply for advanced memory, addressing the extended development cycles, advanced fabrication and ‘Capital Investments’ to sustain the global buildout of AI factories. My POV: not clear who will make those investments, if those are joint investments or just from SKhynix. cc @dvellante @furrier @BenBajarin @dfloyer @altcap @EdLudlow @jonfortt

Its true. Almost all engines on Indian roads are only Indian manufactured not Indian designed and developed. System level R&D work by European contractors AVL/Ricardo. Over the years Indian OEMs(4W/2W) have taken some part in codeveloping but more as a junior partner doing simulations and tests and end user. But the core know why doesn’t exist with Indian OEMs

Retro Nike inspiration—no wonder it feels very familiar! I’m really into it. One difference I have observed between Gizmodo US and Gizmodo Japan is that you guys have 1) a very strong video audience and 2) a more engaged readership that seems to appreciate niche hobbies such as mechanical keyboards and MIDI/sampling gear. I think that by engaging with fans of those niches both online and IRL at events is what makes the Giz JP brand so “sticky” compared to other tech media brands. You guys are not talking down to the community as writers/editors with special access to products and brands, but rather directly to them on the same level. It feels like an evolution of the role of the media/blogging. In the age of AI-created content, it’s more important than ever to have a human touch/connection in creating content. This is why traditional media is learning they must build parasocial relationships, similar to influencers/creators, for their brands. It’s proof there’s a human behind an article or video. Codeveloping physical products like Nape Pro with Keychron seems to be another way to prove there’s a human touch/connection, since it’s solving a problem real people may have. I also haven’t seen any other tech media brands codevelop tech products, only merchandise such as stickers and T-shirts so it’s quite a unique strategy and business model to push toward. I’m really fascinated to see how you guys expand beyond Nape Pro. I imagine it must be expensive! These are just my thoughts as an observer. I have no knowledge into how you guys actually operate 😅. As AI reshapes everything including digital media/publishing, we must ask ourselves what is the media brand? What can the blog do to go beyond just publishing articles/video/podcast? Nobody has a definitive answer, but it’s really exciting to see you guys take a risk and try something big

A strong argument I can admit. I don’t think Intel and AMD are even comparable anymore though so you are right. One is a CPU company with a small GPU business and the other is looking to become a leading edge foundry that might make more licensing and codeveloping CPUs in the future.

ChargePoint and @eatoncorp: CoDeveloping the future of EV charging Express Solo is built on the first product architecture we have codeveloped with intelligent power management company Eaton. Our innovative collaboration integrates EV chargers and the necessary end-to-end power infrastructure, which: Simplifies the deployment of EV charging by unifying two workstreams: the charging equipment and the power distribution technologies that powers it. The process accelerates via this unification, offering proven solutions that are “on the shelf” for fast deployment. So what does this mean in real terms? Together, the companies are developing ChargePoint Express Grid, powered by Eaton, to deploy with lower capital investment, within a smaller footprint, and with lower operating costs. The new Express Solo arrives tested and ready to deploy with Eaton’s innovative range of power distribution technologies that can connect it to the grid, solar, batteries and similar onsite distributed energy resources. The first of our codeveloped solutions are rolling out now. Learn more ➡️ bit.ly/48rBukp Come visit us at the ACT Expo, Stand 2500/2501 in Las Vegas May 4-7th.

A large fleet of LCA Mk1/1A in IAF for the next 30 Y is a reality. This will be followed by Mk2 and AMCA. Without the commitment, GoI wouldn't have negotiated the GE414 deal and got it cleared by US Congress. GoI wouldn't be investing in the codeveloping 110 KN engine.
