I resell used industrial equipment. I was able to corner a packaging engineer on this issue. It turns out that a lot of copacking lines improperly set the temperatures and clearances on the fuser that seals the top on. That is the cause of the problem. The tab guy did his job.

Nah, you just didn’t hear about it. I watched ICE raid copacking facilities under Obama. I watched the contractor making calls to other facilities in the area. They came in, cuffed everyone of them & took them out. Some returned, others didn’t.

Flowers Foods in the US also does a bunch of copacking for Canadian brands, I'd argue if Saskatchewan wanted to fund it, might be worth a copacking facility in Canada.

I can't just buy Algoma Steel product because the middle processing doesn't exist yet. And it's not just steel. I know someone who makes frozen pizzas. Canadian ingredients, Canadian company, Canadian recipes. *US copacking facility*. We are bottlenecked.
