On 5 May 2026, an interactive session at the Wildlife Institute of India brought together teams from #ProjectSlothBear, the Centre of Excellence for Human-Wildlife Conflict Management (CoE-HWC) and @wii_eiacp . Discussions focused on the complex nature of human–wildlife conflict in India, highlighting the need for stronger institutional collaboration and coordinated action. Emphasis was placed on the upcoming stakeholder workshop and the importance of integrating field-based knowledge with field managers’ perspectives into conservation planning and conflict mitigation. As an active partner in this dialogue, the #ProjectSlothBear team shared plans for data collection and future research efforts to better understand human–bear interactions across key landscapes. The session also explored avenues for future collaboration between CoE-HWC and #ProjectSlothBear.
