📣COLO-DETECT On BBC Morning Live!📣
Thank you to @BBCMorningLive for reshowing last year's feature on the #COLODETECT trial, filmed at @STSFTrust.
This trial used AI to improve the detection of bowel cancer during colonoscopy.

Pleased to share the latest study from our department, led by Dr. Caillo in @CHUNimes , on the use of artificial intelligence in screening colonoscopy. These preliminary data helped us calculate a sample size for an RCT COLODETECT 2 (now closed). 🔬📊 #AI#Colonoscopy#CRC
🔬 COLODETECT 1: Combining CADe Endocuff Vision (ECV) improved adenoma detection rates to 60%, vs. CADe alone (40%) or standard colonoscopy (30%). A promising step for colorectal cancer prevention.
👏 Thanks to Dr. @AntoineDebourd1 & team!

We've taken part in a major trial that uses artificial intelligence to detect cancerous tumours during a colonoscopy.
The COLO-DETECT trial used an AI device alongside existing technology.
⬆️8.3% rise in the detection of cancerous cells
⬇️could reduce fatal cases by up to 42%

Proud to have been PI for the COLODETECT study @KGHEndoscopy@ResearchKgh published in @LancetGastroHep
This study shown that using GI genius increases polyp detection during colonoscopy.
Suggests that AI is useful to give a small (statistically significant) gain in polyp detection (like endocuff vision) #marginalgains - reducing the risk of bowel cancer.

Congratulations to Alexander Seager on being awarded the BMJ Gut best laboratory science abstract! 👏 Alexander accepted his award and gave a presentation at #BSGLIVE24 in Birmingham during the '#Endoscopy Research' session on the Tuesday. Missed it? Watch on-demand! 🖥️
More #colospeed celebrations!
Huge congratulations to #colodetect trial manager @AlexanderSeager for his @Gut_BMJ Best Laboratory Science Abstract Award at @BritSocGastro#BSGLive24
Alexander gave a fantastic presentation on the trial, which explored the use of AI in endoscopy
Grandmother Jean Tyler, alongside Professor Colin Rees and our Lara, joined Lorraine to talk about how Jean's life was saved when Artificial Intelligence spotted her bowel cancer. #AI#NoButts
Just watched @lorraine from this morning. 10mins in. @BottProf talking about #nobutts bowel cancer awareness and #COLODETECT our trial of AI to improve colonoscopy. Remember: 1. Do your 💩 test, 2. ➡️GP if you have bowel symptoms, 3. Lifestyle change to reduce your risk
Here’s @LaraLewington and @reallorraine ready with @BottProf and Jean ahead of the show. They’ve taken a fantastic interest in the detail behind this story.
Read more about the study here - the full results are due to be shared soon:
