Precision oncology is no longer “next.” It’s becoming the operating system for cancer care.
In late 2025, the FDA approved imlunestrant with a liquid-biopsy companion diagnostic for ESR1-mutated breast cancer [1]. Regulators have also now formalized how ctDNA/MRD can support drug development in curative-intent solid tumors [2]. And NCI’s next-gen precision trials ComboMATCH, MyeloMATCH, iMATCH are already underway [3]. 🧬
That shifts the bottleneck from discovery to execution: testing access, turnaround time, reimbursement, and trial matching. The competitive edge won’t come only from better drugs, but from better systems ⚕️📉
The real question for leaders: build genomic infrastructure now or watch outcomes and investment concentrate elsewhere.
🤔 Where is precision oncology still overhyped, and where are health systems still moving dangerously too slowly?
