🛑 Arrow Injury Update – Trans Mara, 3 July 2025 A sub-adult lion was reported with an arrow wound in the Trans Mara region on 3rd July—a case of Human-Wildlife Conflict (HWC). A joint search effort was launched by KWS, Narok County, and our BRF team. Though BRF participated only once in the combined field search, we truly appreciate the Masai Mara Rangers for finally locating the injured lion on 10th July. The KWS veterinary unit treated him on the same day. Tracking him wasn’t easy—but we’re relieved to see him healing now. We still don’t know who caused the injury, but we strongly urge guides and local communities to continue spreading awareness—no predator deserves to be harmed. 📌 Disclaimer: BRF does not fund treatments or vet operations—this lies outside our scope. As per the RACI chart, we fall under Communicated & Informed (CI). However, we support by deploying search teams, encouraging conservation, and rewarding community efforts that contribute positively to predator protection. We take accountability when we spot something wrong in the field—and will always escalate the matter to the rightful authorities. We’re not a big-budget NGO—we’re a small team doing our best with limited funds and the generous help of supporters. All funds and expenditures are transparently recorded in our MR & QTY reports. @BlackRockersFoundation | Masai Mara | Kenya Thank you for standing with us. 💛 . . #BlackRockersFoundation #MasaiMara #SaveTheLions #HumanWildlifeConflict #KWS #LionProtection #TransMara #CommunityForConservation #PredatorProtection #WildlifeWelfare #SupportConservation #SaveWildlife

Making Waves for a Living Ganga! Rajmahal Ferry Ghat witnessed a beautiful blend of tradition, science, and sustainability as 2.63 lakh fingerlings of Rohu, Catla, and Mrigal were set free into the Ganga under National Ranching Mission III. With the spirited support of 43 local fishers, this initiative by NMCG & ICAR-CIFRI wasn’t just about releasing fish — it was about reviving life, restoring balance, and reconnecting people with the river. From the mighty Hilsa to the graceful Gangetic Dolphin, the message was clear: a healthier Ganga begins with every small ripple. Together, we’re not just cleaning the river — we’re bringing it back to life! #GangaReborn #RajmahalRanching #NamamiGange #CleanGangaMission #RiverOfLife #FishForFuture #SustainableWaters #CommunityForConservation #LivingRiver #ICARCIFRI #NMCG

Over the past year, numerous nests of Nilssonia hurum (ମୟୂରଚୁଳିଆ କଇଁଛ), Chitra indica (କୁସାଙ୍ଗୀ କଇଁଛ), Lissemys punctata ( ଅମୁହାଁ କଇଁଛ), Pangshura tentoria (ଦେଉଳି କଇଁଛ), Nilssonia leithii (ଚାଭେରୀ କଇଁଛ), Nilssonia gangetica (କାମୁଡା କଇଁଛ) freshwater turtle species have been recorded along a key stretch of the Brahmani River in Dhenkanal Forest Division. With dedicated protection squads and community awareness programmes, efforts are underway to protect nesting turtles and ensure successful hatching. Nesting begins in October and hatching takes place by April, marking a vital period for conservation. Together, we’re working to protect these ancient river dwellers and preserve their fragile habitats. @ForestDeptt #TurtleConservation #FreshwaterTurtles #OdishaWildlife #DhenkanalForest #ProtectWildlife #CommunityForConservation #RiverLifeMatters
