🛑 Arrow Injury Update – Trans Mara, 3 July 2025
A sub-adult lion was reported with an arrow wound in the Trans Mara region on 3rd July—a case of Human-Wildlife Conflict (HWC). A joint search effort was launched by KWS, Narok County, and our BRF team. Though BRF participated only once in the combined field search, we truly appreciate the Masai Mara Rangers for finally locating the injured lion on 10th July. The KWS veterinary unit treated him on the same day. Tracking him wasn’t easy—but we’re relieved to see him healing now.
We still don’t know who caused the injury, but we strongly urge guides and local communities to continue spreading awareness—no predator deserves to be harmed.
📌 Disclaimer:
BRF does not fund treatments or vet operations—this lies outside our scope. As per the RACI chart, we fall under Communicated & Informed (CI). However, we support by deploying search teams, encouraging conservation, and rewarding community efforts that contribute positively to predator protection.
We take accountability when we spot something wrong in the field—and will always escalate the matter to the rightful authorities.
We’re not a big-budget NGO—we’re a small team doing our best with limited funds and the generous help of supporters. All funds and expenditures are transparently recorded in our MR & QTY reports.
