Drone technology has played a critical role in the collection of geospatial data. Yesterday, youth from Mathare River Zones 3, 4, 5, and 6 were trained on the collection and analysis of drone-captured imagery. This marks a significant milestone in empowering communities to take the lead in gathering their own data, planning their settlements, and prioritizing development interventions within their areas. Empowering youth, shaping communities! We engaged youths from Kiamaiko, Huruma, Glocola, Kariadudu, and Korogocho in spatial mapping training. This is aimed at strengthening the role of community-led data in driving local development. Through this initiative, the youth are not only building technical skills but also stepping up as Trainers of Trainees (ToTs). This will also equip the wider community with knowledge on collecting and managing spatial data.
