Today, I am delighted to announce a strategic partnership between the Chima Anyaso Foundation and Communitywide Charities USA to establish community food banks across the 13 wards of Bende Federal Constituency. For many families, access to food has become increasingly difficult. This initiative is our response to that reality. It is a commitment to ensuring that vulnerable individuals and families receive practical support, hope, and the reassurance that they are not alone. One of the greatest responsibilities of leadership is to stand with the people, especially during challenging times. I believe meaningful change happens when people and organizations come together in service of a common purpose. Through this partnership, we are taking another step towards building stronger communities, uplifting lives, and creating lasting impact across Bende Federal Constituency. This agreement was reached following a productive engagement in Boston, Massachusetts, with Mr. Shola Muyide, CEO of Communitywide Charities USA and Founder of Communitywide Grassroots Organisation Nigeria, whose commitment to humanitarian service made this collaboration possible. I am grateful to the leadership of Communitywide Charities USA for embracing this shared vision of compassion, service, and community empowerment. 🎉 The Office of Homeless Services (OHS) was honored with the Partnership Award from the Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino (HACSB) for outstanding collaboration, innovation and exemplary service in addressing complex housing and community challenges. 🏘️ HACSB leadership also highlighted the department’s role in responding to proposed federal changes to the Continuum of Care Program, a federal initiative that supports communitywide efforts to prevent and end homelessness by funding housing and supportive services for individuals and families. OHS supported partners by sharing updates, holding meetings to discuss the changes, and assisting partner agencies with questions and concerns. “Marcus and his team played a critical role in coordinating guidance and supporting partner agencies during proposed federal changes to the Continuum of Care Program,” said HACSB Deputy Executive Director Rishad Mitha. “Their leadership and responsiveness ensured agencies had the information and support they needed during a time of uncertainty.
