The ACM Winter School 2024, a prestigious programme organised by the Department of Computer Science at SRM University, AP is designed to foster advanced learning in computing. The event has attracted pan-India participants representing 22 institutions of repute including IIT Delhi, IIT Gandhinagar, and IIT Hyderabad.
The inaugural session yesterday witnessed the presence of academic luminaries such as Prof. Prof. Nibaran Das from Jadavpur University, Prof. C V Tomy, Dean- School of Engineering and Sciences at SRM AP, and faculty coordinators Dr Priyanka Singh, Dr Ajay B, Dr Ravi Kant Kumar, and Dr Niladri Sett.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ajay B., Assistant Professor and faculty coordinator, emphasised the need for such platforms that could be a source for out-of-the-box ideas empowering students with newer and innovative solutions.
Dr Priyanka Singh provided an overview of the programme, outlining its objectives, while Prof. C V Tomy addressed the participants, highlighting the significance of such events. He stated, “such events not only offer fresh perspectives but also serve as a platform for networking and fostering exchange of ideas.” He commended the organising team for their dedication and effort in bringing this initiative to fruition, ensuring its impact on participants' academic journeys.
