The National Human Rights Commission commenced a two day capacity building workshop on concept development and report writing for staff of Economic Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR) Department.
The Executive Secretary, Dr. Tony Ojukwu, OFR, SAN was represented at the event by Director of ESCR, Ms Isioma Nwosa who emphasized the importance of continuous training and capacity building for staff to improve their effectiveness. She explained that the purpose of the training was to strengthen the ability of staff to carry out their responsibilities, particularly in the area of human rights protection and promotion.
She urged participants to take the training seriously, give their best, and ensure that the knowledge gained is applied in the daily discharge of their human rights work.
The first day of the training had three sessions presented by Mr. Sunny Nkemdi, a Management Consultant whose presentation was on Exploring Pathways to Remaining Relevant in Life and Workplace.
The second and third presentations were carried out by Mrs Ifeoma Nwakama mni on Concept Development Over view, Steps and Guide and also on Steps for Effective Report Writing.
A practical session on concept development was carried out by participants to assess their understanding of the subject matter.
The two day training which continues tomorrow is a demonstration of the Executive Secretary's Commitment in sharpening the skills of the staff to be resourceful and efficient in their work at all times.
