The initiation of the workshop was led by Dr. Parag Nigam, Scientist G and Head of the Department of Wildlife Health Management at WII with important sessions on "Biological and Anatomical Aspects of Elephants" and "Understanding Wildlife Mortalities: The Veterinary Perspective." These sessions delved into the unique features of elephant anatomy and provided field veterinarians with essential principles. Topics included analyzing carcass conditions, distinguishing between natural and unnatural deaths, and evaluating post-mortem changes as well as determining the time of death. 🩺🐘 #WildlifeForensics #VeterinaryScience #ConservationFirst @wii_india @nigamparag09 @moefcc @GobindsagarBha1 @RuchiBadola2 @ForestCgGov

When you stop and consider the benefits of no-till versus conventional tillage, it just makes sense. Less soil disturbance. Better moisture retention. Reduced erosion. Improved soil health. More organic matter. Stronger wildlife habitat. Nature has been building healthy soils for thousands of years without a plow. Sometimes the best thing we can do is work with the soil instead of against it. #PHOutdoors #NoTill #SoilHealth #FoodPlots #RegenerativeAg #Conservation #WildlifeHabitat #LandManagement #HealthySoils #WhitetailHabitat #SoilBiology #Gamekeepers #HuntingProperty #ConservationFirst #WorkWithNature

Smart solutions for a safer coexistence. Solar-powered electric fencing is one of the best ways to monitor elephant corridors and ensure they don't stray into villages. It’s high time this becomes a mandatory practice in all high-conflict zones. #ElephantLove #ConservationFirst

Unethical Wildlife Behavior Alert by Ethiopian Guide Kalio for chasing the lions @kaliomovalley_photography_tour – what you did is a disgrace. Getting dangerously close to lions and then proudly flaunting it is not only unethical but a direct threat to the very wildlife you claim to showcase. This reckless act sends the wrong message to fellow wildlife lovers. Such behavior can endanger both the lions and human lives. If you call yourself a guide from a prestigious country like Ethiopia, then act like one—with respect, knowledge, and responsibility toward wildlife. Wildlife deserves space, dignity, and protection—not harassment for content. The lions fled from you not because of respect, but because of your ignorance and intrusion. We must draw a line. Guides who misguide put both animals and people at risk. Do not disrespect wildlife. Do not endanger lives. Do not call yourself a protector when your actions show otherwise. You have been reported and you are further banned to enter Masai Mara. The vehicle used have been ceased and the owners/guide under enquiry. This event happened on 17 Sep 2025 which surfed out today 25 Sep 2025. We highly recommend and keep insisting all the guides of Masai Mara to intervene such unethical acts which can have consequences for humans and as well us wildlife. . . 🦁 Masai Mara | Kenya | @BlackRockerFoundatin 25 Sep 2025 . . #RespectWildlife #EthicalTourism #SaveLions #ConservationFirst #WildlifeNotEntertainment #MasaiMara #SayNoToIrresponsibility #BlackRockerFoundation #MasaiMara #SaveLions #StopUnethicalGuiding

Eco-Sensitive Zones act like green shields around our national parks and wildlife sanctuaries. They help protect fragile ecosystems from unchecked construction, pollution, and human interference. But balancing conservation and development isn't always easy. What do you think, should eco protection come first? #EcoSensitiveZones #EnvironmentMatters #SustainableIndia #WildlifeProtection #GreenIndia #ConservationFirst

Published today in The Sentinel — I’ve raised concerns over the unchecked tourism boom in Kaziranga. Conservation must come before commercialization. Let’s protect this fragile ecosystem before it’s too late. #Kaziranga #ConservationFirst #SustainableTourism #Assam @himantabiswa

Deforestation and pesticides aren't just destroying birds; they're dismantling ecosystems. We must prioritize sustainable practices over profits to protect these vital species and our planet's future. #SaveBirds #ConservationFirst

Having visited Kaziranga and Jim Corbett, I’ve seen firsthand how dozens of jeeps filled with tourists disrupt the peace of the forest. The constant noise and traffic not only stress the animals but also damage their natural habitat. I watched as animals appeared uneasy, their routines clearly disturbed. Tourism needs balance with wildlife protection, or we risk losing the very essence of these precious places. #ConservationFirst

Jawai Bandh, India 05 - 08 March 2024 Safari Highlights with @patel_pravir Jawai is an incredibly special place, in that it might just be the only place on Earth where one can truly say that Humans and Leopards coexist peacefully. The Leopards here have also adapted to living in rocky, arid landscapes, which is a stark contrast to the usual forest habitats in which they occur across the rest of India and other parts of Asia. Every single one of the 9 different individuals that we saw during our stay was on, or along some sort of rocky outcrop, and they were all a stone throw away from human settlements. We were lucky to have seen 3 cubs, 1 large male, a sub-adult male, and a few females of various ages. Photographic opportunities for all the sightings was truly amazing, and I can honestly say that Jawai is now in my top 3 best places to view and photograph leopards! Besides the leopards, Jawai is a cultural hotspot, and witnessing the local Rabari herdsmen herding their livestock on a daily basis and just going about life surrounded by the leopards is truly astonishing.
