Today, Delta Police had the pleasure of joining the @Cops4CancerCan Kick-Off at Scott Creek Middle School, marking the official start of the Tour’s 28th training and fundraising season. We were represented by #TourdeValley members Cst. Lam and Cst. Tanino, who are among the 60 riders and crew dedicating the next four months to raising funds and awareness for children and families impacted by cancer. Their efforts will culminate in a 700-kilometre ride across the Lower Mainland this September in support of life-saving childhood cancer research and programs. The Cops for Cancer gala was a powerful reminder of what community looks like when we rally together for hope, healing, and action. From the courageous stories shared to the generosity in the room, every moment reflected the strength of families facing childhood cancer—and the unwavering support of those who serve and protect. I’m deeply grateful to the organizers, volunteers, and frontline heroes who make this event possible year after year. Your commitment inspires us all. To the families: your resilience is humbling. To the donors: your impact is life-changing. And to every officer who rides, fundraises, and shows up—thank you for leading with heart. Let’s keep pushing forward. Together, we’re making a difference. #CopsForCancer #WestshoreRCMP #CommunityStrong #ChildhoodCancerAwareness #GratitudeInAction
