In view of the “Jaagrut Hyderabad – Surakshit Hyderabad” Cyber Crime Prevention initiative, Charminar Zone Police of Hyderabad City organized a "Cyber Crime Awareness Programme" on February 14, 2026, at 04:00 PM at Reddy Jan Sangam function hall, Chatrinaka PS . The programme was attended by Sri M.Srinivasulu IPS Additional Commissioner of Police, Crimes and SIT, Hyderabad City , Sri. V. Aravind Babu, DCP, Cybercrime Unit Hyderabad City,Sri. Khare Kiran Prabhakar, IPS DCP Charminar Zone and other police officials.
During the program, officers sensitized the public regarding major online frauds such as investment scams, part-time job scams, digital arrest frauds, APK malware frauds, loan frauds, OTP frauds, dating/matrimonial frauds, customer care frauds, and social media impersonation cases.
Key cyber safety precautions were also explained, including:
• Avoid downloading unknown APK files / remote access applications
• Never share bank details, PIN, OTP, passwords or personal IDs
• Verify the authenticity of job / loan offers and advertisements before responding
• Always use official websites and helplines for customer support
• Do not give bank accounts to known/unknown persons for money or for other reasons. Mule accounts is a tool for cyber crime
• Do not trust investment offers received through Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, or unknown websites.
