With the Freensy blog.adafruit.com/2026/01/12… final name TBD, and the PCB arriving shortly, we’ve turned towards a board that can be used in place of a Teensy 4.1 or 3.6. These long boards have lots of pins, which means we had to bump up to the RP2350B. This 80-pin QFN has lots more pins than the “classic” 60-pin RP2350A blog.adafruit.com/2025/03/27… We kept the left-hand side with USB Type-C, 8 MB of QSPI flash, and battery charging support. On the very right is a microSD card slot that we’ll connect up to SPI and SDIO-capable pads for built-in datalogging. With all that extra space, we’ll put the SWD debugging port, STEMMA QT I2C pins, NeoPixel, LED, and boot and reset buttons. It’s a 4-layer board, so routing is going to be pretty easy. Thankfully, the pins on the chip align with the expected pinout of the board. Woo. We expect to still have extra space on the PCB, both on top and bottom, so we’re thinking a special row of pads for USB Host and also a spot for SOIC PSRAM, but we may be able to squeeze something else in too. Anything else we should add?
