Fort Portal raised UGX 300M in new revenue without new taxes or new staff. Jinja is budgeting smarter with just 60% of the data it needs. Kampala grew property tax collection from 17bn → 68bn in 7 years. On April 30th, @DataCitiesUg unpacked how Uganda's newest cities are using data to collect more, spend better, and deliver more for their citizens. By 2050, 60-70% of Sub-Saharan Africa will live in cities. Most of them are being built right now, and @DataCities_UG is making sure they're built on data.
