Just before Covid I was lucky enough to spend the day at Hatfield House discussing #designcodes then had a tour of new homes built by Gascoyne Cecil they will provide lasting quality homes when many volume housebuilders homes will give their owners grief. It's not a fair system

Hertfordshire can do it, but seemingly not in historic #StAlbans home of CLASH, RAGE, STRIFE & Keep Chiswell Green. If only people could be persuaded to change their mindset to ensuring any new homes are in harmony with the area. Embrace #designcodes & real community engagement.

The King suggested we all listen to each other. A fundamental ingredient to so many aspects of life. Not least in creating new communities. If more embraced genuine #communityengagement to co- create #designcodes to inform development, more new homes built with less opposition.

In truth co- created #designcodes *with* not for communities is the only way forward. It's genuinely a win win situation. I'm sick and tired of what architects and others view what is good for the "end-user". Good, yes beautiful, design affects every aspects of life.

The problem with ArcGis Storymaps is that it's a digital walled garden. It's hard to link to specific information or to optimize SEO, always try and create a simple html website instead. #designcodes

I first met @boys_nicholas of @createstreets 2012 when #StAlbans City Centre Steering Group & community worked with @PrincesFound on co-created #designcodes We had a joint desire that *all* communities should help produce design codes for their communities
