Just because we need to change the #DesignSpeed of streets to be fully successful in slowing down cars & saving lives — just because speed limits aren’t the WHOLE answer — doesn’t mean we shouldn’t reduce speed limits. We absolutely should. Plus changing design speed can be easy.

If the design of a street allows, or even encourages, speeding (we refer to this as the “design speed” of a street), enforcement of lower speed limits often won’t be enough. Even police chiefs know that — well, #Utrecht’s police chief does. HT @lloydalter #designspeed #visionzero
