Ogun State Unveils OgunLEARN to Deepen Digital Transformation of Education Sector
The Ogun State Government has officially unveiled OgunLEARN, the Ogun Learning Enhancement and Academic Resource Network, as part of its ongoing drive to fully digitalise education and prepare learners for a technology-driven future. The unveiling, which took place on Wednesday, marked another major milestone in the education reforms of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration.
Speaking at the event, Governor Dapo Abiodun described OgunLEARN as a strategic investment designed to move education beyond traditional classroom methods and embed technology as a permanent feature of teaching and learning in Ogun State. He recalled that the experience of the COVID-19 pandemic and the introduction of Ogun DigiClass strengthened the state’s resolve to institutionalise digital learning as a long-term policy direction.
The Governor explained that OgunLEARN provides curriculum-aligned digital resources, supports teachers in lesson delivery and assessment, promotes self-paced learning, and encourages creativity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to inclusive and quality education, noting that every child, regardless of background or location, must have access to technology-enhanced learning.
Governor Abiodun also highlighted Ogun State’s leadership in education reform, citing initiatives such as Ogun Skills Fund, OgunEduCASH, OgunSchoLAR, OgunREHAB, OgunTEACh, and OgunDiPER, alongside full digitalisation of the sector, continuous teacher training, improved education data systems, school rehabilitation, modernised technical colleges, upgraded laboratories, and the production of pre-shaded OMR sheets.
He further underscored the introduction of Artificial Intelligence education as a forward-looking investment in Ogun State’s socio-economic future, aimed at preparing learners to innovate locally and compete globally. The Governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for advancing Nigeria’s digital agenda and praised the Ministry of Education under Professor Abayomi Arigbabu, as well as partners and educators, for delivering OgunLEARN.
The Governor reaffirmed that education remains one of the strongest legacies of his administration, assuring that the state would continue to invest in learner-centred, innovative, and technology-driven reforms.
