With a proclamation signed into effect by @GovernorShapiro, Direct Support Professional Recognition Week is a week set aside to recognize and celebrate the hard-working, dedicated direct support workforce that is at the heart of services for people with disabilities. It’s a time to celebrate our Direct Support Professionals who are at the heart of all we do at Voices for Independence and recognize the amazing, innovative ways they support people with disabilities to succeed.
DSP's are essential to the values and mission of VFI. As we work to ensure that every individual we serve is empowered and equipped to lead an independent, meaningful, and full life, a DSP stands ready to ensure the success of that individual. DSP's are truly so much more than a health worker, or nurse, or personal care attendant, as they combine so many different professions into one-- they are advocates, protectors, teachers, cheerleaders, and integral to life in our communities for persons served by Voices for Independence.
This week gives us a great opportunity to highlight the dedicated, innovative direct support workforce that is immeasurable in service for individuals with disabilities. Thank you DSP's, for your compassion, dedication, and commitment-- the work you do does not go unnoticed. Please join us as we celebrate the talent and success of our outstanding DSP's who continue to make a difference in the lives of those we support and their families daily.
