The thing most people forget is that there was ZERO money in 2012 - the dark days of recession. It was about as bad as it gets for fundraising. Which makes ESOF2012 all the more remarkable.
Terribly, terribly sad. Dave was still helping Irish science to shine at the highest level; we’d been in touch just a few months ago about his work on SCI:COM 2019 in Dublin.
Dreadful. @Dave_Fahy a thoughtful european, will be missed by his many friends @mgq @trishbrussels & scientific colleagues across Europe- our condolences to those who mourn him today. He was central to putting Dublin on the European science map as Europe’s cityofscience @esof2012
So sorry to share this sad news. Our community lost @Dave_Fahy in a tragic accident on DunLaoghaire Pier on Monday. Sending condolences, thoughts & support to his partner @Caz_Collins family & friends.
RIP #DaveFahy 💔
The importance of the message and how to bring it to everyone. Always great lessons and stories from Rolf-Dieter Heuer. Memories from #ESOF2012 a long time ago, on a far away galaxy with @apmfgodinho @b_trench
