From the heart of Madagascar, I had the incredible opportunity to dive into the world of heritage, volunteering, and climate action with UNESCO’s global community at the UNESCO MadEx - Training on Volunteering for World Heritage and Climate Action under the World Heritage Volunteers (WHV) framework!!
Madagascar, a country of unparalleled biodiversity and vibrant culture, was an inspiring backdrop for this learning journey. From its unique natural heritage to the warmth of its people, and the fascinating interplay of climate and local traditions, every moment was enriching.
It was a fantastic opportunity to exchange knowledge with WHV Project Coordinators from across the world, making friends, gaining insights into global best practices in heritage preservation and climate action.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ines Yousfi, Project Officer at UNESCO, and Francesco Volpini, Director of Global Coordination at Better World, and presenting the unique initiatives implemented under the WHV – Let’s Heritage Program in the Historic City of Ahmedabad, in collaboration with the Ahmedabad World Heritage City Trust and
@AmdavadAMC.
Proud of my incredible team, especially Niyati Bajpai, who leads this vertical at Elixir Foundation, for their tireless efforts in preserving and promoting India’s heritage.
It’s always a privilege to represent India, our culture, and heritage on international platforms and to contribute to global conversations on volunteering, heritage, and climate action.
