🎮 Arc Raiders exposed for logging players’ Discord DMs in game logs #GenZofAlicesCryptoland bringing you the gaming drama The story started from a Reddit post in r/pcmasterrace earlier this month. Someone shared a technical write-up by systems engineer Timothy Meadows. He found that @ARCRaidersGame from @EmbarkStudios uses the Discord SDK to connect with players’ Discord accounts. The issue is that the SDK connects using the user’s full Bearer token. That means the game can receive events from the Discord gateway, including message events. 👇 Put simply If you had private Discord DMs, some of that data could end up written in the game’s log files. Those logs could include DM messages, timestamps, user IDs and even the token. But this only affects players who enabled Discord Integration in the game. If you never turned it on, you’re not affected. ⚡️ The good news: Embark Studios already pushed a hotfix (version 1.000.027). The update stops the extra logging and the studio says the data never left players’ machines. Still, if you ever enabled Discord integration in Arc Raiders, it’s a good idea to change your Discord password and disable the integration just to be safe.
