Hypocrisy of Caste Pride in the Name of Hindu Unity
These days, among some people of the upper-caste sections, a surge of caste pride and a sea of hatred toward “teli” Modi is visibly rising.
These are the same so-called Hindu warriors who have countless complaints against Muslims, but when it comes to themselves, the scenario immediately changes.
You present Muslim oppression and claims about mosques built by demolishing temples as a matter of historical accountability.
But when the topic turns to atrocities and exploitation inflicted on Dalits, you instantly become innocent, asking why you should pay for the wrongs committed by your ancestors.
If Muslims argue, wrongly, that had Muslim rulers been truly fanatical and converted people at sword point, all Hindus in India would have been converted to Islam, your entire being catches fire. And rightly so, because such arguments rub salt into old wounds.
But when you shamelessly claim that Dalits were never subjected to any oppression at all, it feels exactly the same to them, like salt being rubbed into their wounds.
When Muslims cite one or two royal grants or mention Hindu mansabdars to argue that Hindus were not discriminated against under Muslim rule, you feel like slapping them.
But when you cite one or two examples, like Raidas or Mahapadma Nanda, to claim that Dalits were never discriminated against, they feel the same rage at your shamelessness.
Muslims talk about Ganga-Jamuni tehzeeb for appearances, but you know very well that Ghazwa-e-Hind lives in their minds.
Here, we loudly claim for appearances that we do not consider Dalits inferior at all, but like the Shankaracharyas and most religious authorities, you too deeply believe in the superiority of your own caste and the inferiority of Dalit castes.
When Muslims stand before a Hindu majority, they twist interpretations of Quranic verses to appear conciliatory, but five times a day, through the azaan, they loudly proclaim that your revered deities and God are false.
Here, when Hindu unity against Muslims is needed, you invoke slogans like “sarva-Hindu sahodara” and “janmana jayate shudra”. But before those same Shankaracharyas and religious authorities, you prostrate fully, while all day long, using scriptures, you declare birth-based caste superiority as a divine order.
As soon as the Muslim population increases, their real, despicable face comes out.
Here, the moment reservation or Dalit protection is discussed, all your hatred bursts out immediately.
