It should be noted that there are other such satellite monitoring missions worldwide & it looks as if in particular the Chinese effort Transat, launched in 2016 is superior in spatial resolution.
So if none of the OCO follow on projects in the USA are realized (unlikely with a Trump/Trumpist/MAGA government), China will have better data on co2 emissions in the USA, than the US.
