What bigger example of a failed foreign policy could there be?
The body of Indian sailor Nishant Uirthanathan has been waiting for more than two days aboard the MT Celestial at Duqm Port, Oman, awaiting repatriation to India.
Despite repeated appeals for assistance from the ship's captain and crew members, they claim that the Indian authorities have been unable to provide timely help.
According to reports, Nishant, a 35-year-old Second Officer, passed away on June 11 after suffering from a serious illness.
To prevent the body from decomposing, crew members have reportedly been forced to use cold bottles and other temporary measures.
The captain, along with representatives of the FSUI, has stated that repeated requests for emergency assistance and support have so far not resulted in any effective action.
