Here’s the truth from the California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS): ✅ The first Guard Card course must be 8 hours long Includes: Part 1:Powers to Arrest (online allowed) Part 2: Appropriate Use of Force (must be in person) ✅ At least 50% of this training must be done in person ✅ Both courses must come from the same BSIS-approved provider 🚫 Why scammers do this: They lure students with a cheap “online-only” course. Later, you discover you still need in-person Appropriate Use of Force. Students end up paying more money to find another provider — but BSIS clearly states they will not accept split certificates from two different providers.
