#FateProject Fate Endless Way - Fan Visual Novel Project news!
It's been a long time since I last shared anything about my project... I'll try to make up for that! Fate Endless Way is a non-profit fan visual novel project that will be completely free, made by fans for fans. It will be available in French and English.
The project is ongoing, although various obstacles have slowed it down, such as a lack of funding (I am financing everything myself and no one is working for free) and my depression (you all know what that's like). As it's a one-off project, I really want to take the time I need. I want to be completely satisfied with my story and characters, and to have no regrets when I say to myself, 'It's finished.' I've recently started writing and drawing storyboards again to organise the flow of certain scenes more effectively. I'm currently working on the personalities and abilities of various secondary characters.
You may be wondering why I am not using crowdfunding to finance the project. The answer is simple: it would tie me down. I plan to do so once half of the work is finished and a demo of the prologue and chapters 1 or 2 is available, so contributors can get a real glimpse of the project. For now, I want to focus on writing based on my feelings, rather than feeling anxious that people have paid for it and expecting me to meet their standards. For the time being, I prefer to fund my project myself so that I can have the best tools for writing a story: time and freedom from accountability.
It's time to introduce Vincent Candall, designed by my talented friend sho (@/shokansenn), the character designer! Vincent is somewhat of a victim, yet he is also a good person, despite employing methods worthy of the Holy Church. As you may or may not know, the FEW story focuses more on the Holy Church than on the mages' association. I find this part of the lore really rich and interesting, and living in Europe, I can easily find inspiration for an appealing story (at least I hope so)!
I wanted to show you a glimpse of my storyboard work, but actually, that's not a good idea... It would be spoiling Claire Chastel's Servant, which I'd rather you discover later. Nevertheless, I still wanted to share a few details about the two main characters. Claire is a mage who uses a hunting magic. She is extremely skilled at tracking down and eliminating entities that are harmful to humanity. Akari is... a rather unusual boy. I hope you like these two!
I hope to give you more news soon, perhaps some pictures of the work in progress! See you soon, and thank you for your interest!
