With temperatures expected to reach more than 90 degrees June 14 and 15, the Federal Way Community Center will be open as a cooling center during regular business hours. ☀🌡 The Community Center is open Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cooling center is open to the public free of charge, but no pets are allowed. Our Public Works team partnered with South King Tool Library over the weekend to host a mattress and tire recycling and document shredding event, giving community members an easy way to recycle bulky items without leaving their vehicles. Together, we recycled 338 tires, 92 mattresses and box springs, and collected 6,000 pounds of documents for secure shredding! We all play a role in keeping Federal Way green!
