✍️Students are writing messages to Scotland's new First Minister.
They are clear that they need a government which values and supports them.
Support our campaign to get the Scottish Government #FightingforStudentsnus-scotland.org.uk/fighting…

They claim to support women by closing the gender pay gap while simultaneously cutting funding to colleges & disadvantaging working class women & girls! #savefe#fightingforFE#fightingforstudents
🏴 From free period products, to the first gender-balanced cabinet in the UK, the SNP are delivering for women.
💷 While the gender pay gap rose to 7.7% last year in the UK, it fell in Scotland to just 1.7% - the lowest on record.
#InternationalWomensDay2024
Great to speak to @elliebgomersall at SNP Conference today to discuss issues impacting students & how we can work with @NUSScotland on a range of causes including tackling student homelessness, expanding free bus travel, and supporting international students #FightingForStudents
Delighted to see @CllrBenParker's motion on addressing the student homelessness crisis pass! 🏘️
Figures by @Slurp_Edinburgh show the shocking extent of students struggling to find a home, with 1/5 of students not having their name on a tenancy agreement at the start of teaching.
ALT Student Homelessness. "The only way we can solve the problems in student housing is by delivering housing justice for all – that must involve support for more creative forms of housing such as housing co-operatives." - Cllr Ben Parker, Green Group co-convenor
And yes, the cost of living crisis has made these issues far more acute, but stats from over a decade ago paint a very similar picture of poverty.
Scottish education has been in crisis for several years now - it's time to do more than just patch the cracks. #FightingForStudents
Fantastic work by @glasgowgreens councillor Anthony Carroll - having a student rep on this working group will ensure students are at the heart of finding the solutions to Glasgow's student housing crisis (and the housing crisis more broadly)!
#FightingForStudents
In a cost of living crisis it is vital that educational institutions look after their students, not add to their financial stress.
We support the ongoing #FightingForStudents campaign.

We love this but with 1 in 5 students skipping a class due to the cost of travel, why not extend the discount to peak times?
Support our #FightingForStudents campaign and demand for a 50% discount on bus and trains ALL DAY for students and apprentices: nus-scotland.org.uk/fighting…
👩🎓 Calling all students.
We’re giving all students a 50% discount on Off-Peak tickets between Monday, 27 March – Sunday, 30 April, just show your valid Student ID at a booking office from Monday onwards to claim.
Disappointing answer to my question on the impact of the young people’s bus pass being limited to under 22’s given the increasing costs students are facing during the cost of living crisis - but I will take up the Minister’s offer of a meeting.
@NUSScotland
Student poverty is more widespread than you would think, @NUSScotland's latest "Cost of Survival" report highlights just how much Scotland's students have been impacted by the cost-of-living crisis. #FightingForStudents

ALT Picture of Paul Sweeney MSP holding up a NUS Scotland sign that says " I'm Fighting For Students".
This is the reality for students and apprentices across Scotland.
The incredible initiatives set up at @dusadundee are vital for supporting students in the current crisis but we need long-term solutions from the Scottish Government.
