The Soviets built a rifle that ended Cold War engagements without the shooter ever giving away his position. Cold War Shadows: The VSS Vintorez and AS Val, a deep dive into the weapons that changed suppressed warfare. thefirearmblog.com/blog/cold…

Just watched this awesome TFB TV interview with Franco & Carlo Beretta — 15th & 16th generation family members — celebrating 500 years of Beretta excellence! From the legendary 92 series to their shotgun legacy (Silver Pigeon/680 family love), they break down what built an empire and what they learned from the misses. True craftsmanship and reliability across generations. 🇮🇹🔥 Watch here: youtu.be/vZNlqlXPBQ0 @Beretta_USA @Beretta_1526 @firearmblog @jjreeves #Beretta #Beretta500 #2A #Firearms #ShootingSports #GunCulture #Beretta92 #OverUnder #TFBTV

New article on the @firearmblog about how the grenade launcher from the movie 'The Dogs of War' actually led to creation of new weapons. The movie is decent, but the book is better, at least in my opinion. Maybe the best book about mercenaries ever. thefirearmblog.com/blog/how-…

We've worked with FNUK and HKUK and will continue to work with any contemporary manufacturers that we feel appropriate. I don't appreciate your accusation. As a public museum we have no dog in this fight beyond the user, just like everybody else.

In reality Project Grayburn has barely begun. I don't think there's anything particularly nefarious going on and none of the manufacturers have been awarded even R&D funds. Some, like Beretta, have made significant outlay for planning and promotional materials.

We're in a potentially transitional period for small arms, whether it comes to fruition remains to be seen, but over the next 5 years nations will have to navigate new HV natures of legacy calibres alongside new calibres when selecting rifles and ammo. Interesting times.

FN is giving the people what they want. A rifle with AR-platform ergos. Whether the piston system is superior to Stoner system rifles is up to the evaluation boards of individual nations to decide.

I have been writing articles for @firearmblog for the last 8 years. And now The Firearm Blog is writing about me... Feels a little surreal. Thank you @historicfirearm, I can’t express how grateful I am.

I don’t mean to sound like a mindless hater but this seems like a horrible idea that does nothing to “solve” weight distribution in the slightest. It’s still 6 mags up front, but now, if you want to access 3 of them you open a zipper. Why? It’s just a giant admin pouch with mags.
