Texas allows constitutional carry, yet James Harden was arrested because his legally owned firearm wasn’t in a holster in his vehicle. The government has no business micromanaging how a law-abiding citizen secures their own gun.

What an amazing outcome for gun owners! We could not be happier that the courts saw right through @ATFHQ's arguments and saw this rule for what it was—an attack on the Second Amendment. Because the rule was vacated, "Defendants may not apply the rule to anyone."

Last night, Tradition Community Association did the right thing and permanently repealed its blanket firearms ban. Those who choose to conceal carry for lawful, defensive purposes are protected by Florida law, and we will use this office to defend those protections.

@ByronDonalds was one of a very few members in our caucus that was an absolute and unapologetic no vote on the most intense and emotional gun control bill in Florida’s modern era. In the face of relentless pressure from Republican leadership to pass something, Byron held the line, making clear he was all in to make our schools safer but that stealing individual liberties was both an indefensible and ineffective way to do that. No other candidate in the race can say that. And that matters.

Uh, the Legislature put a measure on the ballot. It wasn’t “signed” by me because it does not require the approval of the governor per the Florida Constitution. In fact, the Legislature’s measure is different from my proposal in significant respects (ie, it doesn’t provide for the elimination of taxes on homesteads and it doesn’t create a fund to provide state grants to local governments to assist with core services as homestead taxes are phased out). That said, the proposal will increase constitutional protection against taxes for homestead properties and will be the biggest property tax cut in Florida history. Floridians looking for help with affordability will have a great opportunity to vote for it.
