Why is solar energy the most important renewable energy? As we approach Summer Solstice we're reminded of the sun's powerful energy. Yesterday, a single fixed 445w bifacial perc panel on a vessel's stern over water generated 3.6kWhs or eight hours of nameplate. This efficiency enables a smaller BESS for overnight loads or extra output fuels the electric motor. The high albedo effect of the vessel's white snow materials and finish with cool water help improve efficiency. Or as a floating charging station to recharge what looks like @Meta's @finkd on a foiling board! This solar module can also capture and recirculate water for scaling other renewable energy. The module's shade also helps cool the waterway. These are some of the reasons why solar isn't just power, its critical infrastructure.
