FROM SEATTLE FIRE DEPT INFORMER: SUPREME COURT UPDATE. The Snohomish 8 case received a significant procedural development today. After the petition was filed with the United States Supreme Court, Snohomish Regional Fire & Rescue (SRFR) waived its right to file a response. Today, the Supreme Court took two actions: • Distributed the petition for consideration by the Justices. • Ordered SRFR to file a response explaining why the Court should not hear the case. This does not mean the Supreme Court has agreed to hear the case, and it does not mean the petition has been granted. What it does mean is that the Court has requested additional briefing before deciding whether to take the case. The Court could have proceeded without hearing from SRFR. Instead, it directed SRFR to participate and submit a response. The next step is for SRFR to file its response with the Court. The case will then continue through the Supreme Court review process. Additional updates will be shared as they become available. #Snohomish8 #ReligiousFreedom #TitleVII #SupremeCourt #FirstLiberty #FaithDutyLibertyJustice

Strong recommendations at the #ReligiousLibertyCommission from @_KShackelford with @firstliberty: Public schools should be required to certify compliance with religious liberty as a condition of federal funding. When someone sues the government for violations of religious liberty the plaintiff should have all their costs reimbursed by the government. The IRS should issue a small fine against a church for violating the Johnson Amendment and @TheJusticeDept should force a court case so that the courts will rule on the law's constitutionality.

And Antonin Scalia, of all people, wrote the opinion stating that religious freedom could not usurp a generally applicable law unless a specific religious practice was targeted. And the coalition that passed RFRA was a strange bedfellows coalition if there ever was.

Some of the most robust protections for Christian ministry, secured at the Supreme Court in the last couple of decades by the tireless work of orgs like @ADFLegal and @firstliberty, were argued on the basis of The Religious Freedom Restoration Act (1993) which was passed by Congress in response to the infringement of the religious liberty of a non-Christian religion by the Supreme Court.

You have wearied the Lord with your words. “How have we wearied him?” you ask. By saying, “All who do evil are good in the eyes of the Lord, and he is pleased with them” ~ Malachi 2:17

This is fucking disgusting and I do not support the people’s house being used for this shit. Go to church if you want to worship. This is NOT the place for it. Trump is the most vile, least godly person on the planet. Fuck all of you assholes.

This is what a Theocracy looks like. This is the SAME EXACT type of government that Iran had. Ohhhhh the irony! If you want to worship go to your church. This isn't your church. This is a government building. Keep your religion out of politics. It never ends well.

Sing! Hallelujah. Can we please get an exorcist in front of The White House daily, too, to pray out those demons still roaming the halls?

Disgusting. Worship while starting a war. A bunch of guilty consciences is what that is.
