“I love being an educator, but I’m here because our retirement isn’t secure,” says Tomas, a dedicated educator and unionist. He took a personal day to talk directly to lawmakers, calling on them to pass the Fair Retirement and Recruitment Act. Tier 2 pensions are keeping educators in classrooms until age 67 with fewer benefits - a harsh burden that’s driving good teachers out of education.
