This has been true, to some extent, Since quite a while back. E.g., it's common practice to design DSLs amenable to synthesis algorithms (FlashFill etc). Agents are much newer, though.

Flashfill哪里“知道”自己生成了什么？
单纯就是在数据集上跑决策树来fit程序，它根据前面N个表格输入预测（公式），从而来预测下一个输入，这不就是转了两圈的NTP？和modern DL有什么区别？
我们都知道给定前N项，有任意多的公式可以拟合它们。无非是只是Flashfill只能用那几个构造而已。这并不使得它的生成就更“容易”知道。

那这样FlashFill也不能叫程序合成，它就是在fit前几项的数据而已，这有啥可验证的？这和让AI跑测试集有什么区别呢？
由于古代程序合成的能力实在是弱的不行，你不要指望他们有多好的性质，能合成可以过编译器的程序出来都不错了。
Vibe coding 可能都算不上 Program Synthesis，因为 Program Synthesis 需要验证，vibe coding 有的时候就是不瞄准，打到哪算哪，叫 AI assisted programming 可能更合适。

Vibe coding 其实不是啥新鲜事。学名叫 Program Synthesis，通过 high-level 的 sepc 自动生成可执行的代码。
1945 年就有人想这么干了。2011 年的时候，Excel 就用上了，叫 FlashFill，它能根据例子自动生成字符串。

jumped into the @Talus_Labs testnet thinking the points were meh, then it clicked that DC roles actually gate real upside and daily missions quietly compound. spun up a simple agent in Talus Vision with no code, wired it through Nexus, and it surfaced in SentientChat and AgentHub. opened it up so the GRID economy could track usage, and suddenly 3M distribution wasn’t a fantasy, it was traffic I could feel. seeing the rewards accrue on actual interactions made it obvious: agents are the lever
old way was chasing closed APIs and praying for quota. new way is a coordination layer that routes compute, nodes, and models like a market you can touch. if $BIT filling in under 10s taught us good mechanics matter, this is the same playbook for #AIagents: align builders, let the best agents win. Sparsity can also be used to partially explain some of the successes of programmatic representations, such as FlashFill. DSLs and the way we search over the space of programs naturally give us sparse representations, which favor sample efficiency and OOD generalization.

Wen-Ding Li trains LLMs to synthesize code from *only* input-outputs: No natural language. This works for graphics code, functional programs, and FlashFill, providing the foundation for our recent ARC paper.

It's also our first step toward bringing DreamCoder into the LLM era. We give a wake-sleep algorithm for training LLMs to generate code, which helps out-of-distribution adaptation.
