Exploring Solderless Connections in Flexible Electronics
When working with heat-sensitive substrates such as TPU or PET, soldering isn’t always an option. In this demonstration, Voltera uses Z-axis tape to connect strain gauge sensor pads (printed on TPU) and a ribbon cable (printed on polyimide) to a rigid board. This approach enables reliable electrical contact without heat while preventing lateral shorts — a practical solution for flexible and hybrid circuit designs.
