As a former process piping system designer for D.O.D. this is unacceptable practice to say the least. Every retrofit should be inspected immediately. I suggest these companies utilize SolidWorks FlowSimulation software. Also using current code of pressure and velocity distributions for the eccentric kB reducer designs is critical to avoid catastrophic failure. Diagram-2 shows standard table of applications Using hydrodynamic stability formulas, we could also project this retrofits critical lifespan. Not including the condensation build-up due to hydrodynamic drag.
