Spring food plots donât just happen â theyâre planned. đ±đŠ
If you want strong stands and healthy deer this fall, the work starts now. Here are a few things you should be doing before planting season arrives:
đșïž Planning & Logistics (Do This Now)
âą Soil test your plots to dial in pH and nutrient needs
âą Map out your plots with bedding areas, access, and wind in mind
âą Choose the right seed for your area â clover, alfalfa, brassicas, chufa, and more
âą Order lime & fertilizer early (lime should be applied 4â6 weeks ahead of planting)
đ Site & Soil Prep (Early Spring)
âą Control existing vegetation with herbicide, mowing, or crimping
âą Frost seed clover and other perennials if conditions allow
đ§ Equipment Maintenance (Do This Now Too)
âą Service your equipment including your spreader, sprayer, and no-till drill
âą Fix issues now so youâre not wrenching when itâs time to plant
Good prep = better plots = more daylight deer activity.
If you need equipment or advice, weâve got you covered.
