Happy to have the strong endorsement of our very own State Representative Marianne Proctor, who represents House District 60, one of the two House Districts wholly within Boone County. I've worked with Marianne since she was first elected in 2022, and fully support her efforts in Frankfort to help better the lives of Boone County residents and others across the Commonwealth. At last night’s fiscal court meeting, a resident addressed the court calling out concerns with our lack of adherence to our long range comprehensive plan. I agree. I think despite election year grandstanding by folks that have been in office for almost three decades, we have very real gaps in our planning processes that are negatively impacting quality of life for our residents.

Tonight, 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟒, 𝐚𝐭 𝟓:𝟑𝟎 𝐩𝐦, the Boone County Fiscal Court will hold a public meeting at the Boone County Administration Building, 2950 Washington Street in Burlington. All Boone County residents are welcome to attend and provide input on items before the Court. As always, you may also email me with any thoughts or questions.
The full agenda is available on the county website, but below are several notable items scheduled for consideration:
• A resolution authorizing the appointment of Tim Banish to fill a vacancy on the Boone County Historic Preservation Review Board.
• A resolution accepting and approving the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) budget and project budget for the Emergency Management & Public Safety Communications Center Project (this is the new PSCC center across from the BCSO).
• A resolution approving the purchase of a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) from Deep Trekker, Inc. for Boone County Water Rescue.
• Resolutions executing the 2026 Grant Agreement and Legally Binding Agreement for the Brighton Recovery Center for Women Recovery Kentucky Project in Boone County.
• A resolution awarding the RFP for Tennis Program Management and Instruction Services to ATKB Tennis.
• A resolution awarding the bid for fireworks for the Boone County 250th Celebration of America to Yokum Fireworks.
• A resolution approving Fiscal Year 2026 mid-year tax fund allocations for designated social service agencies.
• A resolution awarding the bid for Electronics Collection Services to Tri-State Escrap Inc.
• A resolution rejecting all bids for Household Hazardous Waste Collection Services.
• A resolution approving the purchase of police special service and administrative vehicles from Paul Miller Ford.
• A resolution approving the final closeout payment relating to the construction for the Parks Building Project.

Last night we had a huge showing at the NKY Tea Party forum! I spoke on my support for Law Enforcement and Public Safety, and my commitment to transparent and limited government in the form of reduced regulations, lower taxes, and individual property rights. I also expanded on my vision for how we tackle the many issues around growth and long-term planning for our county, to ensure quality of life for residents and proactive growth management. We need local government that works for its residents, and not outside special interests. The challenges and opportunities of the next 30 years are going to be much different than the last few decades. I left time at the end for questions, and as always – am available by cell phone or email for any resident that has questions or concerns about policy or issues with the county. Keep an eye out for future “Chats with Chet” events going on throughout the county!
