Imagine not using your frunk 🫪

Going on a road trip in August in our 7 seater Model Y, should I install a roof rack and put a box on top? It’ll be me (“driver”), passenger seat in the front will be empty. 2nd row will be the wife and our 3 month old then. 3rd row will be my 7 and 5-yr old. The trunk will be the stroller. I was thinking some luggage in the front passenger seat, and other stuff in the frunk. Maybe we don’t need it? Thoughts?

Safety peace of mind vs. $1k… what would you actually do? Vote below and comment why — especially if you’ve had frunk/latch issues or a wrapped Cybertruck. Need the hive mind on this one. 🚨 Cybertruck owners — I need your real advice right now. This is my 2nd hood/frunk replacement in less than a year. The damn thing only latches 90% of the time. The other 10%? I have to slam it shut or it won’t close at all. Tesla covers the part under warranty… but I have a full wrap on the truck. Re-wrapping just the hood is gonna cost me $1,000 out of pocket because it’s 3rd-party wrap. Tesla won’t cover it and they can’t even guarantee the new one won’t fail again. Would you: Drop the $1k to get it fixed properly and re-wrapped? Or just live with the occasional forced slam and hope it doesn’t pop open on the highway?

Yes, it's definitely not a deal breaker, but since we moved from the Q7 to the MY and still use the same bag set, I have extra space for an extra bag/suitcase thanks to the underfloor storage, and having the frunk means we always have extra space to put other things in it or move one bag to the front if we're taking a cooler with us.

R2 frunk is 5.2 cubic feet. Model Y Premium is 4.1

The extension cable is so useful! I keep mine in the frunk and it’s come in handy on multiple occasions. 👍🏻👍🏻
