Hey #fsharp! @IonideProject 7.29.0 / FsAutocomplete 0.81.0 is out and brings F# 10 and .NET 10 support! Give it a try and report issues when you find them!

Hey Btw if you use @zeddotdev The #fsharp plugin has been updated to auto acquire the F# LSP (fsautocomplete) so the installation experience is almost "out of the box" once you install the plugin!

FWIW, I have this all stood up in Linux using Helix and FsAutoComplete.

fsautocomplete works anywhere LSP clients can run. I do have a coworker that uses it in emacs. Though it's best in VSCode, because the maintainers (me) don't have experience running it in every editor. Please document your experience and write up what issues you run into!

Yes, years ago I had to juggle between rider vs and vscode because things worked better in others, the experience is consistent between the three these days though still each IDE has their strengths but vscode (fsautocomplete under the hood) should take you far before IDE needs

I've tried the fsautocomplete lsp in helix and it at least worked, but I'm no terminal editor user so your mileage may vary. Other than that if we talk as programming as a hobby I've spent around 10 years in F# for fun already no sign of stopping yet tbh. It just works™️

Just sayin', the OSS F# tooling (fsautocomplete) works great in all those editors and has from the beginning.

F# 詳しい人に聞きたいんですが、fsautocomplete で次のエラーでてるってことはプロジェクト設定がうまくいってないということだと思うんですが、何を疑ったらいいんですかね?

This season we're thankful for an amazing release of #fsharp 9 and #dotnet 9 and to celebrate we're happy to announce the latest versions of Ionide for VSCode and FsAutocomplete, bursting at the seams with support for all of the new features (including nullability annotations)!

I'm hoping DATAS works well for FsAutocomplete. I have some terrible bespoke knobs GC environment variables that kind of emulated it that I'd love to ditch.

Yes, using FsAutoComplete and native LSP. The only missing thing for me is a tree-sitter

Hey folks, today we're happy to officially adopt the #FsAutoComplete project as a member of the broader #Ionide tooling organization for #fsharp tools. While FSAC has been the backbone of the Ionide family of editor tools for many years now, it's lived in the fsharp GitHub org.

FsAutoComplete is surprisingly only 78k lines of F# code (including tests) - it's become a lot easier to develop on over the years as we've gotten better about making separate vertical silos for feature areas. Also the better we model the domain the easier it is to change.

Are you interested in contributing to #fsharp @IonideProject or #FsAutoComplete but don't know how to start? Try asking #Copilot how to add a feature to the repository! Here's copilot showing how to add a new CodeFix, it does really well with very little guidance.
