Love that @acroll raised the @CDS_GC's implementation of the UK government's open source Notify service. Great that Catherine Luelo responded back with a description of a system which allows users to own their data. Sounds like #Estonia to me! #FWD50 #GCNotify

Small world! Just found out the US VA project I'm working on uses a fork of @CDS_GC GCNotify as part of the back-end flow. Feels really awesome to see our work helping even more folks!

In the case of GCNotify, the innovation does come from outside but via open source software, not vendors. GDK UK initially built it and CDS forked it.

And yet this make work project will still be leap years behind a critical mass, globally proven, full Open Source, WCAG compliant, multilingual and platform agnostic WebForm management platform already in GC for years... already integrated with GCNotify. @DrupalWxT Just sayin

A cool example is a module I wrote to connect Drupal to GCNotify, which is a service based on the notifications.service.gov.uk… service which was open sourced. The sky is the limit when we work together.

Welp, took a day last week to write a module (drupal.org/sandbox/joel_osc/…) to connect Drupal's powerful message stack with GCNotify so any departments using @drupalwxt can send email notifications via notification.canada.ca/. Open-source ftw! @CDS_GC
