#DidUKnow Greenwich Mean Time (GMT 0) is named after the Royal Observatory Greenwich in the United Kingdom When we set up electronic devices, or adjust the time on a computer, we often encounter the term GMT – Greenwich Mean Time. So why was Greenwich chosen as the reference point for time, maps, and considered the "centre of the world"? In the 19th century, observatories in powerful nations were at the forefront of scientific discoveries, from astronomy and meteorology to advancements in timekeeping. At that time, the UK boasted the most advanced maritime technology and had significant global influence, proudly earning the title "Master of the Seas." Due to its maritime dominance, in 1884, the UK was chosen by 20 countries as the world's reference point for both time and geography, and the world’s mean time was named after the Royal Observatory Greenwich in London. Let’s follow our Chevening scholar Lương Trung Tiến to explore this fascinating location! #GreenwichMeanTime #GREATScience #GREATTechnology #CheveningVietnam #TuesdayChevening

This entire mini saga has been the most entertaining bit of truly outstanding science I’ve seen in quite some time. The only change I would’ve made is to have led with the tag line, “spiky purple cat butt morphotype”! #greatscience #mycology

Just need to point out how globers cant face reality. Watch them fall apart over this. Read it carefully. Edwin Hubble said observations put us at the center which cannot be disproven but must be avoided at all cost. His words-Not mine. #greatscience they chose spacial curvature

Edwin Hubble said 1 of 2 things are possible w/the observations. Which do u think the observations “seem to favor” A small finite universe or a universe indefinitely large plus a new principle of nature? Well, the one that put us at the center was discarded despite observations.

I am thrilled to experience the .@NHM_London BritishNaturalHistory Museum. This iconic institution is a vault of treasures where history comes alive in its spectacular historic buildings. The highlight for me is the awe-inspiring dinosaur exhibit, a journey back to the ancient world of these wondrous creatures. The museum's commitment to accessibility is commendable, with free entry ensuring that everyone can explore the marvels within.EVERYONE!!!! The shops are packed with lovely items to remember this incredible visit. Above all, the museum's dedication to great science illuminates the natural world in ways that are both educational and mesmerizing. I am having a blast spending a few days immersed in learning, beauty and entertaining my curiosity within this remarkable museum. #BritishNaturalHistoryMuseum #Dinosaurs #FreeEntry #MuseumShops #GreatScience #HistoricBuildings #PaulaKahumbuAdventures
