We have forced them to close down the #GangsMatrix & stop the sharing of misinformation with their friends in LA's across London. We are now witnessing the benefits of the end of this iteration of racist policing as the violence appears to be decreasing in London #WarInnaBabylon

Yet they steadfastly refuse to apologise to 3000 youths whose names were wrongfully included on the #GangsMatrix and whose human rights they were proven to have breeched by the information commissioners office in 2019

The #GangsMatrix was a racist tool that developed within Met & symbolised for Black Londoners an institutional culture that sustained racist policy and practices.
We welcome the move, with hopes that the violence harm assessment is closely scrutinised to safeguard against misuse

This #GangsMatrix announcement reminds me of when the ‘Sus Law’ was repealed during the early 80s by the @metpoliceuk, without any acknowledgement much less an apology for the trauma it had caused & the criminalisation of so many ppl; especially from the Black community. @MetBPA

The institutionally racist Met Police has scrapped its Gang’s Matrix after more than a decade over concerns about the scheme's "disproportionality".

I’m off to see a documentary about the #GangsMatrix. I heard about it first as far back as 2018 but this year hearing @StaffordScott_ discuss Black boys having their lives ruined because they were in the same school classroom as alleged gang members really touched a chord.

My point was that I've yet to hear a serving Black officer expose a racist police tactic. Why didn't a Black officer tell us about the baton rounds or even the racist #GangsMatrix database.
BTW the umbrage is #racism pure n simple

I'm still a serving officer and all our members are as well. @NBPAUK has been challenging the system from within for 25 years which is why some of our colleagues/former colleagues have so much umbrage with us.

Challenging the system but for whose benefit through?
Pl show reports of @NBPAUK or @MetBPA challenging institutional racism against the #BlackCommunity - not black cops. As an example please show me where @MetBPA say that the #GangsMatrix was #Racist and shouldn't be used.
